Rubber extension along top of plow

I need to get some type of stiff rubber to use as a plow extension on the top of my back blade. I've thought of conveyer belt type material from a super market checkout but they'd be sure to notice it missing. You don't see that stuff anywhere. What does everyone else use? Steve

Justus - In this section several weeks back was a discussion on materials to use on the bottom of your plow as a wear surface. Some people use sheets of poly insetad of the steel cutting edge. Some use old grain conveyor material or rubber belt material bought at a farm supply store. Try to find the message board or look into those options for extensions.

Thanks Iowafun, after reading your POST I checked out the discussion you mentioned. I don't have a TSC around here but I will look into a farm supply or snow plow dealer.

Rubber extension along top of plow

I just added a piece of 10" baler belt to the top of our plow. It works better than I even expected. The perfect material for a plow extension.

$6/ft at TSC

I had the bailer belt on the top of my old blade for many years, works like a champ. When I got rid of the old blade and got a new Land Pride, put the belt on it too, makes a big difference in moving snow around.
