My Shibaura sd4043 3 point quit working. At first it was bleeding down now it doesnt move at all. any body have an idea what it could be. I had a guy look at it he said it was not getting fluid to the pressure control valve...maybe a solenoid is bad???

The guy who looked at it, how was he sure it was not getting fluid to the control valve? Did he not give you any thoughts?

As to solenoid, does your tractor have any solenoids in the hyd circuit, I would doubt it.

First think, have you check the fluid level? Does it have a filter and if so when has it been changed? If no filter does it have a screen to be cleaned? How long since you ever the fluid?

My GUESS; if your fluid level, fluid and filter are all fine you have a pump problem if there is no fluid to the control valve. But start with the service items first.

the fluid is fine as the front end loader works great... i believe it should have a solenoid, since it is an electric(not manual) switch for the hydaraulics, he was able to put air to the control valve and lift the 3 point up down... so thats why I think maybe a solenoid that opens the control valve is not working.

Well the good news is you don't have many feet of hdy lines so it should be real easy to track eash hose to find a solenoid. When you find it I would test to see if current is getting to when you are switching it and if it is then test the solenoid with an ohm meter to know if the coil is good or an amp meter with current applied to see if drawing current again thus good. It could be you could even place your hand on it and feel it engage and disengage with power being applied off and on.

If the coil is working you could still have a sticking plunger. If you pull it apart be sure you have release hdy pressure such as having fel down and no load on it.

If you don't have power to it of course then check the electrical system with fuse and switches.

Again, I don'tknow Shibaura at all but solenoids are simple devices in design.

Another thought, iif he tested with air then you really have no idea if it is leaking down or not as air will compress while fluid will not.

But is there a valve you are suppose to switch to select use between fel and 3 pth? Even hoses to switch? If so have heard of people have the quick disconnets to be not full engaged, not fully seated, not opening even though joined or clogged. If you have any quick disconnects check them.

It was bleeding down before it totally quit.... I have never had to switch from fel to 3pt, so I dont think thats the issue, I going to buy a similar model forn repair manual and give that a shot.... do yo know if ford uses electric 3pt controls??

GIve a Ford or rather New Holland dealership a call and ask them on the electric 3 pth control.

It is possible you have a control valve in the hyd system that is closed to your 3pth and only sending fluid to the fel. Again not a lot of hyd lines on a small tractor so should be easy to trace. Look for a knob under the seat area that might also control the oil flow to the lift.

there is a control valve under the seat..thats the valve that is completly dry(no hydraulic fluid)I think thats where he shot air to it and it operated the 3pt... this is why I tink I have a solenoid issue. I just dont know where to start ripping it apart!!!
