A dealer offered me a Century 2028 with C50 FEL and rear hydraulic remote for $14,000 which includes a $700 factory rebate. Does that sound reasonable.

I am curious, why wouldn't you buy a JDor a Kubota for the same money? I would think the resale would be easier.

I would really like to buy a JD or NH but I can't find a dealer that will give me a price any where near that. I kind of use a guide of 80% of list as a reasonable purchase price, but I can't find anyone that is will to negotiate on the American name tractors.

grinder,
I'm curious what JD or Kubota comes close to the specs on the Century 2028/ C-50 FEL for $14,000.
30 HP
12/12 sycro-shuttle
Foldable ROPS
1 rear remote
2580 LBS 3 point lift at lift pins

C-50 loader lift capacity 2100 LBS lift at lift pins.

I was refering to resale value in my comment. I do not know
all the specs on comparble tractors,as to one lifting more than the other.
I was talking more in general terms, such as a L2800DT for $14,900. here in maine where we are higher than most I see on this board. It is a 29 hp vs a 30 hp? perhaps lifting caps. vary, but enough to effect the avg. owner?
I know an off brand tractor would be hard to resell here,
mabey it's not a big deal where you are. My only
point in mentioning it is I don't think people think of
resale, they buy on price. I'm sure it's a fine tractor but,
can you sell if you "had" to, without taking a bath?

I'm an average owner and the differances sure would affect me. I see quite a differance here.
Century 2028- Kubota L2800
sycro-shuttle vs machanical shuttle
12/12 sycronized tranny vs 8/4 constant mesh trans.
live PTO vs transmission driven PTO
folding ROPS vs non-folding
1 rear remote vs no remote

c- 50 FEL vs LA 463
2100 # lift vs 1012
