 JD 4200 Buy Price

I went to my JD dealer in Springfield, Mo today and bought a 4200 with 420 loader 4x4 CST R4 and a Danuser 20/40 post hole digger with 12" auger for $16250 + tax of 5.1%. From what I've seen on the board here this seemed like a fair price. Everything was in stock and I test drove the tractor which will be delivered tomorrow. I'm anxious to see how this post hole digger is going to fair in the Missouri rock filed soil. Just thought I would post a message with the availability and price here in Missouri.

If cst is collar shift then it seems high. But i don't know what this danuser costs. I've only been looking at $500 post hole diggers.

I could have gotten a Bushhog post hold digger for about $300 less but have a lot of recommendations on the Danuser. The Danuser was $1000.

 Hydro or coller shift?

No it is not hydro. You can't find a hydro anywhere in the US right now from what I've been told. This is the standard collar shift 9f/3r. I put about 3 hours on the machine today and had no trouble with any functions. I bought the R4 tires and think that perhaps I should have taken the R1's. The machine had power to spare, but traction can be a problem. I was moving several piles of stone and pushed one dead tree over so I can saw it up tomorrow. Poked two holes with the Danuser 12" auger and it had no problem in rocky Missouri soil. It does leave a lot of powdered dirt and some rocks in the hold you have to pull out by hand - but did throw most of the rocks out along side of the hole.
