Is B7300 hitch really less flexible than B2100?

Here's another question I would really appreciate some feedback on. The B2100hitch is described as "8 point" whereas the B7300's isn't. I've read reviews that have stated that the B7300's hitch is "only up and down"... YET when questioning the dealer about this difference, he seemed puzzled and demonstrated that he could place the hitch at an infinite number of positions and it would hold them as he stood on the hitch. The lever doesn't have 8 clickable positions - yet the hitch appeared to hold any desired position. So is there really any appreciable difference (aside from load capacity) between these hitches?

The feature you are reffering to is called position control. This allows you to vary the the height of the 3 point to any position within the range of the hitch. The B7300 does not offer this. On the B2100 it is standard.

Thanks for the comments Jon... but I know all that. What I'm reallyafter is an understanding of if there is any real significant differencein the functionality of these two hitches. As I pointed out, the dealerdemonstrated that the B7300 hitch could apparently be adjusted to *any*height via it's lever and would hold that position while he stood on thehitch. So what am I missing with the B7300 hitch???

What your missing is that position control is very important for when you are looking to repeat precise depths for activities such as tilling or box blading. On the b2100 you can set the dept and repeat it exactly every time. On the 7300, you would have to adjust it by eye. If you are not going to perform any precise activities off the 3pt. hitch, then the 7300 will work just fine.P.S. If you plan to use a loader on the 7300, make sure you demo one first. They are not very fun to drive without power steering. I went through this when I purchased last year, and decided on the 1700. I just had to have PS because I do a lot of loader work.
