 HOWSE BUSHHOG

I bought a used 5' Howse Bushog for $200.00. I just replied to another message regarding a NH 1920 tractor and I stated to that fellow that I use it for overgrown hedgerows. The one I purchased was in pretty good shape but had been sitting in the woods so it wasn,t pretty. I have cut 1-2" saplings along with everything that grows in a hedgerow. I mostly use it for cutting a pasture, however, last year my 10hp MTD mower died so I sharpened the blades on the bushhog and finished the mowing season using the bushhog for my lawn. It's a little tricky to keep from scalping the ground but I managed O.K. Overall I am pleased with it.

I have a four foot howse rotary cutter with about 20 hours on it. it is built very well! Extremely heavy duty gear box, heavy guage body and support mechanism. I got this mower as part of a used kubota package, but have no use for, and would like to sell it. let me know if you're interested.

I have a nice 5 ft only a year old that worked great for me, until I moved from Orlando, FL to Seattle. It's still sitting there if you want to buy it; good as new. Pete, where are you located? I need another.

I purchased a Howse 5' mower three years ago and have mowed a lot of tough saplings with it as well as orchard grass. It does a good job on both and leaves a nice smooth cut on the grass. ( I was intending to purchase a finish mower but the Howse does such a good job I dont think I need one). The one problem that I have experience is is loose gearbox bolts several times after mowing saplings. These bolts on the Howse are particularly difficult to get to to tighten but it can be done. Also the top bracket of the hitch is an usually design and I have had difficulty in getting a Speeco speed hitch to work with this mower. I paid 480 dollars new, delivered, and certainly satisfied overall.
