New John Deere 8000 Series Tractors

I'm planning to buy a compact tractor this year, and considering the new Johne Deere 8000 series produced in Augusta, Georgia. Does anyone know quality/reliability information on these tractors relative to Kubota, etc? I would, in principle prefer to buy American, all other things being near equal. Its the 8700 that I've been most interested in. I'd appreciate any thoughts and feedback anyone might have! Thanks in advance.

New John Deere 4000 Series Tractors

I gave the wrong model number with my request... no wonder I did'nt get any response. What I wanted to know about is the 4000 series tractors, and the 4600 in particular. To correctly state my question-What does anyone know about the new 4000 series tractors, their reliability, quality and how they stack up to the Kubota?I would prefer to buy American if I can.

I just got off the phone w/ Kubota dealer. According to him (and other research) only the Cub Cadets can remotely be qualified as American. Everything else isJapan/China.

Chris I have a 4600 and have no problems what so ever with it. I must say that it is a real work horse. Been using the model 48 backhoe pulling stumps with it and clearing some land as well as digging and loading dirt it's quite the machine. But like all others they are not American made it's assembled in the States. good luck

To add to the international flavor, I noticed that parts of the 3pt on a JD 4300 were stamped "made in Spain"
