I am buying a new tc21d and my dealer said the 12la fel he got for it will not fit and he was searching for a 7306? fel. is there a difference in these loaders beside the mounts? He stated i could not have the belly mower and the fel hooked up at the same time if he installed the 12la fel. He said it was a serial # thing? The only other fel i see used on the tc21 is a 7106. Can anyone help me?

Sounds like the dealer is sorting out things pretty well. Without knowing, I'd guess the serial number thing is that there was a production change for the model that likely required a different frame for the loader which isn't compatible with the MMM. That would mean it'd work OK on tractors made before some date but not after. Sorry but I can only speculate here.

It is much better if the story comes out now rather than after the loader is on and out of the dealer's yard. Sounds like he's doing right by you.

I hope this doesn't stir things up too much but you might ask the dealer a few questions. I think the 12LA loader is newer than the 7306 loader, it may well have better specs and use the new curved loader arm design that is more visually appealing. I searched a little and only found the 7106 loader, not 7306, and the 12LA has 400lbs higher lift capacity than the 7106. If this is a brand new TC21D I'm wondering why the new loader won't work with a new tractor and new MMM. I'd be wary that he is selling you an older model tractor or mower that may have sat on the lot for awhile. That's not necessarily bad but paying full price for brand new equipment that doesn't work with the newest implements doesn't make sense to me.

I agree with Ken, Blue is in the midst of big model changes and no doubt a bit of confusion. Caution is called for here.

Thanks for the input , I got a good price on the unit 14000.00
for the tractor , fel and 60" mmm. and the dealer tells me it is a new 2003 model. is there anywhere i can find the production date on the tractor or by the vin # if there is one on the tractor, or maybe the serial #. does anyone know if there is a big price difference between the 12la and the 7106 or 7306 as the dealer told me. sorry about all the questions but this is my first compact tractor purchase and i want it to be right. does anyone have any suggestions on the mmm between a side discharge and the rear discharge? I am very particular about the looks of my lawn. Thanks again

Good thing there are always people around here to catch wrong assumptions. Mine was that the 12LA is older than the 7106. Same issue though and a dealer can ID the year and other info from the serial number. Sites like tractortips also have serial number data if the tractor isn't too new. There's a chance that safety/corporate liability decisions resulted in a frame for a new loader than is less rather than more compatible with a new tractor.

Yes, caution here seems like a good idea. I think I'd be more worried about the dealer if the serial number hadn't been raised. At least it sounds like he's aware of the issue. It would be hard to deal with a dealer if you can't assume that they are able to sort out what goes on what. That is their business, but I suppose there are always exceptions.
