 PTO leaf/debris blower

Anyone have any experience with a PTO leafblower. I am trying to find best performance and value. My tractor is a TC45D.

 PTO leaf/debris blower

I don't have a PTO blower but what I do have is a 8hp blower on wheels with a direct drive blower similar to a squirrel cage blower. I use it for commercial parking lot cleanups etc. It will blow a stream of air 30 feet or more.

Back to your question, have you entertained using a PTO-powered forage blower? I believe they are used to blow forage or even grain up into silos. I have seen guys take these blowers and use them like a giant circular saw pulled sideways to create ditches in fields. Check out FarmShow.com and do a search on "blowers" or "forage blowers".

I have to think you could pick up one of these units cheap.

 PTO leaf/debris blower

Mark, at a golf course I worked at in the north east we had two Jacobsen PTO driven leaf/debris blowers attached to 40 hp tractors. They were used for spring and fall clean-ups, blowing aeration cores, etc. They were extreemly powerful. We are going back some years so I don't quite remember the model #'s. As the mechanic, the only trouble we used to have was with the operator sitting in the tractor seat.Usually they didn't understand the concept or operation of a two stage clutch and would disengage the P.T.O. blower everytime they changed direction. Eventually they would either shear a keyway or snap the pto drive shaft. Other that that these units ran 8 hrs a day 6 and a half days a week in the fall and spring time without a lot of headachs. The Jacobsen units had plenty of grease fittings and were built pretty rugged. Anyway, I believe all the larger golf course suppliers - (In the north east we used to call on Sawtelle Bros, Lesco, TPC)
Search for one of these companies or a golf course equipment supplier nearby.
Good luck,
Peter - NH
