 JD4300 vs BOOMER TC29D

I just purchased a JD 4300 with HST and the 430 loader. I looked at the Boomer TC29d, but felt that the JD was a better constructed machine. The only bad part about the JD is the wait to get one, my dealer told me it will be between 45 and 60 days, but I think it will be longer. I am using the tractor to take care of 17 acres with lots of rocks and the JD bucket looked much sturdier. I would appreciate anybody who has this machine or can give me any input on the Bommer vs JD. All the ratings on the JD look superior to the NEw Holland, so I feel I mfeel I made the right choice. I paid 17700 for the JD and got a great trade in price on my old massey which was at the end of the trail.

 JD4300 vs BOOMER TC29D

I purchased a 4300 HST, MFWD, 60" midmount mower and 430 loader. As I have stated previously on the compact message board, I think the TC29 is a great tractor. It was a tough decision. I went with the 4300 due to the price (I traded an 855, mower and loader) and a good JD dealer. The ability to attach and detach the loader was another reason I went with the JD. The New Holland dealer did not have a loader for me to try so I was unable to determine whether the New Holland loader was as good as the JD. I also mentioned in a previous post that there were some features on the New Holland that I wish were included on the JD. The swivel the seat I think is a nice feature.I was hooking up my 25A flail mower to the 4300 today and I would have greatly appreciated the telescoping draft links that the New Holland has. Hopefully Deere will include those as an option on future tractors.I've owned the 4300 for about two months and like the tractor. I had a problem with a misadjusted parking break at first but that problem was resolved. In the case of the 4300 vs. the TC29 I think it comes down to the price and the dealer support.

Just a footnote to the JD4300 HST delivery -- I ordered one the first week of March.I finally recieved it this past weekend (May 15 -- thats about 70 days). To add to my miserythe the 420 loader I ordered with it is not in yet. And my dealer cannot locate either a 420or a 430 loader anywhere for me.

Just visited the Fort Collins JD dealer this weekend. They are way out on 4200/4300 models, and if you want a loaderit is a real big problem. They are trading all over the countryfor loaders.

Well, I'll speak up for the Boomer. My hunt came down to the same two. They are both wonderful machines, and I have always loved Deere's (my son even has JD bed sheets, pillows, etc.), but I went with the NH. The whole family liked it best, and most of me like it more also. It was hard to turn away from the Deere, but one dealer told me the middle of July, and the other was still checking; so I get my NH this Wed. Total wait, 1 week.

Ordered my JD4300 HST end of March and I'm still waiting. Dealer is now telling me early June. He does have my 430 loader and 4 in One bucket, so I guess I should be happy for that.

I went with the Deere because I'm really not in a big rush. I admit I would like to have it earlier but such is life. I agree with you that the NH is an excellent machine and of course more available. The main thing that turned me down was the NH dealer told me to check the weight of both units, and that the NH is heavier. After checking I found that the 4300 was 400 lbs heavier. I did like the supersteer option and would have gone with that. I think the main swing item was the dealer, the Deere dealer wanted to deal. Good luck with your new unit, hope you have years of trouble free service.

I made the comparison-JD 4300 to bommer and chose the JD4300.although I ordered it back in April and haven'theard from them yet. I ordered the 4300,4x4, 430 loader with a HD 73" bucket. It was easier waiting for our first born. anyway i think you made a good move and good luck.
