 1925 low power

I have a NH 1925 with 770 hours. Last Fall I took it into the dealer to do the 500 hour recommended maintanence. I know I was 200 hours late. They checked the injectors and adjusted the valve clearance. I got it back and noticed it would bog down when under load when pulling a 6' finish mower up slight inclines. They checked it out and said that the Woods mowing deck had a bad gear and bearings which caused the low power condition. $285 later the low power condition still exists. I'm taking it back in Saturday to show them the problem and have it dyno tested. They can't understand what the problem could be.

Any thoughts from the experts out here in cyber land?

Thanks for all your help.

Since you said that the valves were adjusted. Sounds as if they may have gotten the valves a little tight causing them to open a few degrees early, thereby losing a bit of compression prematurely. You didn't say if they cleaned or adjusted the injectors but, you did say they inspected them, if they didn't flush the fuel system the injectors could have become clogged after replacing them from particles loosened in the process of removing/reinstalling them, I'd suspect them too.

I would have them check the simple things before they charge you to overhaul the engine, make sure the shut off
cable is returning all the way(if equipted).Check to see if the throttle linkage is opening up all the way.Replace
all fuel filters and make sure you have good fuel flow
from the fuel tank.Check for dirty air filter, also check
for restricted exhaust pipe(kinked or bent)I have seen
that with exhaust systems that run under the tractor.
If the diesel in the tank is over a year old I would
drain it.Did the tractor have low power when you took
it in for the check up? I work on diesel trucks for a
living.Good luck

They installed a new air filter and inner element, a new power steering fluid filter and new oil and fuel filters.
They didn't change fluids, just topped them off. The manual says to change fluids but they said they never change the fluid if it looks clean and doesn't smell burnt.
I put the tractor aginst a tree in the weeds and I couldn't spin the tires in the 2nd range. They would spin in 1st range (low range) in 2wd but not 4wd. I hope they can fix it fast, I need my tractor bad this time of year.

The power was fine before I brought it in for service.
