New Holland TC35 starving for fuel

Hi ,i have a fuel problem with my 2003 nh tc35 it has 2055 hours on it and has developed a problem draining down the filter bowl until it sucks air i have drained tank, had good flow while doing this, removed grommet out of the bottom of the tank ,removed filter housing and cleaned was not dirty ,replaced filter .When this happens i crack the filter bowl and it fills up or remove vent line on top of filter housing and it fills up ...does not do it all the time it is intermittent, also have blown the vent and fuel lines out .There is a fuel pump on this setup could it be that pump that feeds the injector pump ?Not sure as this is a simple gravity fed system and i am at a loss..wondering if anyone has had something similar...thanks Dave

My Case tractor, same as an NH, has an electric fuel pump. With the ignition turned on, but without the engine running and when at a half tank or less you can hear the fuel dumping back into the fuel tank.

I had a similar problem with my case loader. It turned out to be in the fuel tank. The original mfr. failed to install a screen of some kind. The hose in the tank was clogged with small wood chips. Before that I had a similar problem with this same loader, only this time I found the clog where the line enters the fuel tank they installed an elbow. The chips were hanging up there verses going to the filter. Once I got rid of the elbow and added my own screen at the pickup end. No more problems. By the way, my machine got clogged after I lent it to some young guys just starting their own business.

thanks for the reply i have checked the tank thinking that was the problem have been working on it changed a couple of o-rings but didn't seem to help what we have done is bled the whole system right to the injectors and crossing my fingers seems to have done it ...this system has the vent and return hooked together kinda weird but seems air was circulating through the return and not being able to get back to the tank would fill the filter housing with air but tractor would run fine it is still working so far ..again thanks for the replies..dave
