I got a quote today for a tc40d w/ SS, Ind. tires w/ fluid, 17LA loader w/ 72" HD bucket and toothbar,Bushhog 72" squealer cutter also rear work light and step package. Total with tax $23,100 in Maryland. From what I've seen this seems to be a good price?

Go for it! I bought exactly the same tractor 1 year ago minus the bushhog for 22,200. You will love it. The supersteer is great for working in the woods or even when I need to squeeze the machine into a corner of the garage. BTW- I didn't go for the 45D because you don't have the option of later adding a mid PTO.

mhazell,
What was the quote for the TC40D by itself and which dealer did you go to?

Dan, I didn't ask for a separate quote on the machine and loader. I bought my tractor at Chuck Romance and son in Arcade NY. I drove 2 hours from my home (3 dealers closer to me.) to buy from there. The owner Chuck Romance was by far the nicest person that I met at any dealership. Then he gave me the best price to boot.

Sounds like a good price. What is the step package? I don't remember ever hearing of that before.

That's a good price. But if you haven't obtained a quote from Antietam Tractor in Hagerstown, MD, then i suggest you do so. I've purchased 2 Boomers from them (I bought a 29D and then traded it in on a 40D last year.) I found their prices to be much more reasonable than two other NH dealers I went to.

I have a quote from a local dealer for a TC35D with FWD, FEL, Joystick, Filled R-4's for $18,400. I think I may be better off with a 40D at about $1200 more. What do ya think about the price? I think I can beat him up a little.
ps. Great site!

I got a quote from a Keene NH Dealer on the 40d with the 16TLA 23580 - 1350 (NH discount) = 22230

Plus 350 for remote hydraulics, 350 for quick attach bucket and 200 for bucket cutting edge.

Implements:
LP Digger (15 series w/ 9" auger: 850
Delta Chain Harrow: 560
Woods Rear Cutter 5': 1200
Woods Rear-Cutter 6': 1700

I figure they must be real proud of these tractors.

Any advice on how to deal would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, the 35d was 22113 - 1350 = 20763

All in USD So Sad

I going with the TC40D. After reading BKColman's response, the smother operation of a 4cyl. seems the way to go.
Here is what I have so far on a TC40D - FWD -16la FEL w/72" bucket - R4 - Rear work light - I'll pick up.

NJ dealer #1 w/ delivery & filled R-4 no light $20915.00
Md dealer #1 as speced $20,430.00
Pa dealer #1 as speced $19,450.00

All are in stock. I have a few more quotes comming and I'll post them as they arrive
