I have been shopping for a compact tractor for about 6 weeks. I have looked at JD, Kubota, Kioti and NH. I like the TC29 best, but, With it's short wheelbase and seemingly high center of graxity, Im concerned about roll over. The Kubota 2910 seems to have the lowest CG. My land is hilly. I just came across a used 2000 TC29 with front loader for $14,900. It has 95 hours, R4s 9x3 2 stage pto. Looks in very good condition. Is this price a little high? Thanks,Keith

When I was in the market last fall, I found a couple of places that advertised new TC29S 's (standard tranny) for 11,995. One gentleman I e-mailed with a few times bought one with R4's, live PTO, deluxe 3pt, folding ROPS for about 11,900. I ended up paying 12,800 for the same tractor through a local dealer. Loaders are usually between 3,000-4,000 new.
I bought a TC29S and love it. Can't help you on the stability question, my land is all flat. Doesn't seem to be any worse than the farm tractors I grew up on; they're all dangerous. I liked that the TC29 weighed more than the Kubota or the TC21

I am also somewhat concered about CG. I do alot of mowing on hillsides and really like the TC 35D and 40D but a little cautious about the possibility of Roll Over. I currently own at Cub 7232(A bit smaller than the 35D, about the same as a 25/29/33D) that I have no problems with on the hillsides, other than lack of weight to hold the tractor from sliding downhill with the Woods RD7200 mower attached. (kind of a White Knuckle ride from time to time, thats why I'm wanting a bigger tractor.) If you get any good info on tis I'd love to hear it.

Mark

Mark:
Thanks for your reply. I went with the Kubota B2410. While it is a lighter tractor, it has a longer wheel base and a much lower CG. It is probably not as rugged or heavey duty as the NH, but for my applications it is sufficiant. I used to have a Ford 1520 and almost rolled on many occasions. The New Boomer series seems to have an even higher CG and a real short wheelbase.

Regards,
Keith
