 MF1250 elect problem

After running the tractor for about an hour I stopped to unload some plants from the loader. Knowing I was going to be getting on and off alot I pushed up the steering column forword and the tractor died. The temp & batt. light work but no go. Checked connections, looked for pinched wires, nothing. Put the ign to run and jumpped the starter, got back to the house and it wont shut off ! I stalled it and here I am. HELP. please.
thanks Ed

As a follow up. The head light dont work, the flashers do. I am waiting on manuals so I'm really in the dark.

Have you checked to see if you may have any cannon plugs not properly seated or with moisture in them?

By cannon do you mean multi-connection plugs? If so I pulled as many as I could get to (most of them )sprayed with elect burnisher and reconnected. no moisture anywhere.
Funny it should go down when I move the steering column.
Even funnyer... I didnt start when I put it back ! Hell I had to try. Smile

Did you check to see if you had any wire bundles rubbing anywhere. Sure does sound like a short caused by a pinched wire or one that has had its insulation worn through. These kind of problems can be exhasperating to find.

Walkin' away did'nt do it either. found some pinched wires but they are for the PTO. Repaired them but same deal. Recleaned and tightened the molex connections. Still N/G. I know what I'll be doing tomorrow. BTW after starting by jumping at the starter with the key sw.in run.. why didnt it shut off?

Might just be a bad starter switch. Is all of the other stuff routed through the starter switch?

Dont really know. I was looking but not paying attention. Tomorrow I'll go at it again. Hopefully I can find some documentation on the web.
