 Operating Experience for MF1233

Has anyone out there bought one of the recently introduced MF1233's? If so, I would love to hear your comments. I am looking to buy a new one or a JD790. They are comparable in price here in East Texas. I will buy a fwd model with loader. I cannot find much on this tractor, specs or owner info. Any help is appreciated.

I was at my John Deere dealer yesterday and saw a JD790 MFWD, 2001 Model, about the size of a JD4300, new for $10,600. I thought that was a lot of bang for the buck! I like Iseki (Isuzu engines)that makes the MF1200 series, but think MF is too pricey. John Deere has a promotion on the 790 and also 6.9% financing for 60 mo.

Rancher.
I have heard good things about the MF 1233. I personally own a MF 1250. I put over 600 hours on it the first year. It has been a very good tractor that I would buy again. I also got a better price on it than I could on NH, Kubota or JD. The engine is made by "Iseki". They have been building engines since 1962.

Rancher, I have owned a 1240 for about 9 months. It now has 85 hours on it and I am very pleased with the tractor. I have never operated a 1233, but I think it has probably many common parts to the 1240. So far my machine has been very reliable and I have used it on a variety of jobs with several different implements (box blade, rear blade, FEL, rotary cutter, snowblower). So far I have not encountered situations where the Iseki engine would be low on power. I think you usually run out of traction before the engine gets to a point where it would get overloaded or stall.

 Operating Experience for MF1233

I just finished a full 10 days on a MF 1233. It just might be my last time on this beast. I have never been bounced around so much in my life, (on a tractor that is). It has been the roughest tractor that I have ever been on PERIOD!!!!! This tractor was a partial donation to a Therapeutic Riding Program that I volunteer at. MF nor the Foundation Board members took in account that handicap people would be driving this tractor. No body has been able to stay on it. On every bump you come off of the seat and the engine cuts off. Every time you have to shift, you have to been over, (way over). Every time that you bend over to shift the engine shuts off. The seat is advertised as beening very plush, NOT. A plush brick maybe.
The Hi/Lo range lever is all the way down on the floor, You have to shift this lever into Netural everytime you want stop, start or get off and leave the engine running. It does not want to move easily, even after 15 hours. The gear shift lever is not much better, the synchromesh does not work 95% of the time, even after stopping the tractor, engine at idle and clutch to the floor, the gears will still grind. The dealer says that it has to break-in, and to give it some time. At this rate by the time that I get to the 50 hours break in period there won't be any gears left to break-in.
I have torn my jacket and now my good coat getting on and off of this tractor, the barn manager ripped her overalls on the same PTO lever.
As far as the FEL MF1244, this loader is over rated. I can lift more weight with my Gravely 16hp and Kwikway loader.
Sorry for the bad vibes but thats the way it is! And we the crew are stuck with a tractor no one can drive.
