What is good Tractor dealer service?

For the new tractor buyers, they really don't know what is the good dealer suppose to service. For an example, so far all my the experience from car dealer. Within bumper-to-bumper warranty, within powertrain warranty. Sometime they said this part is not covered, you are hard to say no because you lack this kind of knowledge. If people here can help us to build up a simple self check list, will be easy let us to follow. Like:

1. Entire feeling: Pro-->Hardwork, Knowledgable, Quick Response,.....
Con-->Excuse, unKnowledgable,......

2. In bumper-to-bumper warranty:
(1) Onsite help? (Charge service fee or not? Which Rate?)
i. average hours waiting
ii. Charge service fee or not? if yes, which rate ?
.......

(2) Common Issues: (Cover or not?)
i. Hydro oil leak
ii. PTO not engage or fail
.......

3. In powertrain warranty:
(1) Onsite help? (Charge service fee or not? Which Rate?)
i. average hours waiting
ii. Charge service fee or not? if yes, which rate ?
.......

(2) Common Issues: (Cover or not?)
i. less the oil pump
ii. including the intake and exhaust manifolds
.......

4. over or not covered by warranty:
(1) Onsite help?
i. average hours waiting
ii. Which Service Rate?
iii. Parts price same as MSRP?
.......

(2) Common Issues:
i. break something...
.......

5. In xx hour service:
(1) What is minumize xx hour service change required, and fee.

(2) What is maximize xx hour service change required, and fee.

or any other format you can suggest.

Thanks,

What is good Tractor dealer service?

Kangaroo; A lot depends on what you are buying, new or used. new is spelled out in the warranty statment that comes with a new machine, no maybey's, kinda's, or you are an eception type thngs. Discuss this with the dealer before you buy. Used is a different story, on for example a less than two or three year old low hour tractor of their brand often a limited warrranty is offered, most anything else is as is, let the buyer beware. Stay local, as I've preached on before saving 5% and skipping your state sales tax by driving to an out of state dealer then expecting your local dealer to cheerfully put your tractor ahead of his own loyal customers is just not going to happen. There has been some service manager bashing going on here lately, yes there are good ones and there are duds, the service manager can make or break any dealership, I've had this experience, I simply quit doing businss there till he was replaced, I wasn't the only one and the dealer got the message, he was replaced, things picked up instantly. The customer has to do their part too, stomping in the door making demands about this and that get you nowhere except to the bottom of the list. A good dealer will take your part on a legitimate need, but soon grow tired of a "Chronic Bitcher" and tend to take care of those who ask for things on a resonable basis. In short find a local dealership with a good reputation, Let them know your immediate and future needs, be reasonable in your dealings, they have kids to feed too. When they sense your loyalty and trust in them the same will be returned to you. Nuff from me. Frank

Thanks, Hardwood. That is what I am debating inside these days. If it is said 2-year-bumper2bumper, then everytime I have to use trailer to send, that is equal no warranty to me.
Local dealer suppose to be much easier, but totally depense.
To my case, for MF 1540 with 12 tranny powershulter is the the one I liked the most. Dealer is in less one mile only. Local friends recommand. Only issue is the price $1800 higher than South states. PA price is much better, but I can not see much different about dealer locate 70miles or 1000miles away. Do I really care about that $1800 if I want use it to run a biz? I think not. Could be more concerning about unfair than cash value itself.
