I was at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville,KY back in February, looked at some new FarmTrac T-series tractors (T-35?). These look a lot like a 1970's/1980's model Ford New Holland 2000/3000 series right down to the dark blue paint. Are these based on a Ford design or perhaps they are old Ford designs built under license ?? Where are the sourced from?? Who makes/designs the engines and transmissions for these tractors ??? Any opinions on if these would be a good alternative to say a new Case DX33 or NH TC-33 type compact tractor?

One thing I have not been able to locate is pricing info for these units...anyone out there know what these cost?

Any info would be appreciated

Mike in Indiana

Escorts in India had produced tractors for Ford since 1969 and ended up acquiring Ford's Stake as part of Ford's selloff to Fiat (New Holland). Escorts is a Billion dollar company. These tractors are manufactured in a state of the art facility which has been completely retooled with the capacity to produce 72000 tractors per year (2 shifts). Farmtrac is the brand name of the tractors.

Recently the company has acquired controlling interest in LongAgribusiness, and their plant in Tarboro NC.
The Farmtrac utility tractor range starts with the FT-35 at around $9K and includes the 45, 60, 70, and 80 models, the last two feature Carrero 12x12 shuttle shifts and flat open platform designs. 4WD versions start arriving in the next few weeks.

As a side note, the factory offers brand new replacement engines for repowereing Ford models direct bolt in kit. ....

Short answer is yes, they are basically an identical tractor to the old Ford 2000-4000 units. Only difference are the brakes and injection pump (smoother operation). The FarmTrac 35 which is basically a Ford 2000 starts around $9000 with a 3 year warranty. ....
