 1991 B7100 HST problem

I recently had a oil leak on my FEL and did not fixed it right away. After fixing the leak and topped off the hydraulic oil, I noticed my reverse is sluggish. It also coast downhill in forward direction. I then changed the hydraulic oil filter and refill hydraulic oil. My problem still exist. Any and all advice is appreciated. Dan

Sounds like you have a big air bubble in your system. Cycle through the loader several times as well and your 3 point hitch. After doing so re-check the fluid and add if needed.

It sounds like you have some air you need to work through the system. What exactly did you need to repair on the loader?

I assume you are saying you didn't have these problems until you took the loader apart and fixed it? Were you running the machine very low on fluid prior to this?

Couple of thoughts:

Did you use the right grade hydro oil. Having the wrong viscosity can cause the problems you are describing.

Clean the strainer on the hydro line. It is a good idea to clean the strainer whenever you change the filters.

The Hydro Transmission usually has a seperate filter from the hydraulic system. Are you sure you changed the transmission filter.

Cycling the stearing a couple times usually will blead any air from the system.

Hope this helps.

I got my Kubota hydraulic oil from the dealer. I assumed he gave me the right stuff but I will double check. I will also clean the strainer this morning and try and purge the air out as suggested. Thanks for your advice and I will give you feedback later. Dan

Air might be the problem and some times just some working of the elements of the transmission will help you bleed it out. Do not keep going over the hill and allowing it to free wheel.
