Kubota tractor - best model for me

10 acreas to maintain. I have 2 acres to cut grass. I have trees to haul. I need a bucket for loading dirt. I need something to assist in picking up and hauling trees away and and it needs to fit in a 6x6 doorway. In addition, I need a blade for snow blowing. Just started looking. For those who are knowledgeable about Kubotas - What's the best model for me?

BX would do you fine. It would give you the manuverability to get in tight areas and yet have the power and the loader to take care of your needs. With the fold down rops it will fit width wise and height wise thru your doors.

Where are you loading the dirt to? Some of the BX tractors have limited dump heights. Check out the dump heights as well as the lift capacities. I would rather move up to a B series. Even the larger ones would fit through the 6X6 doorway (driver may have to duck to get in).

Hey Art,
Another point to add to your list in recommending the BX series is weight. I hope my lawn dries out enough before it needs mowing with my 7500. I have broke through a few times already driving where I thought it was plenty dry enough.
I guess it really depends on how much of a lawn mower your
tractor needs to be?

I would recommend away from the BX just because of the limited 3-point. The arms are a little short and the vertical lift is limited. This can be a problem for some 3-point implements. I had a BX sized tractor for 3 years, and had to trade up. Great machines, but you are always looking for solutions to the 3-point problem.

I would recommend the B series also. The issue about lawn damage will be something to address regardless of using the BX or B. I don't see much difference on my lawn. I have to be careful with both when turning. Take the loader off and keep both machines as light as possible to minimize damage while turning.

Grinder the nominal weight difference of the tractor is small between the B and the BX if you don't include the loader and other accessories but sometimes you might get caught with the differece between the ground engaging deck used on B-series and the non-ground engaging deck used on the BX. We have seen that as a difference in gouging the lawns. I did have my first customer with a BX come in and ask for a trade up to a B the other day. He is going to a hoe and he feels he needs the larger tractor for his work. I was looking at a home where a BX22 resides and he had several 8' plus logs out waiting for the truck to haul them to the mill.
