I posted a message on 4/4/04 re: the uneven cut of the BX2200. Dealer has again checked and leveled deck and removed all "play" from torsion bar. It cuts fine at 3", but looks bad at 3.5". Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? The dealer does not. Also, I am thinking of trading up to a B7510 to get a mower that runs on the ground (like my old B7200) instead of a suspended deck. Does anyone have any experience with the finish mowing of the B7510?

MY BX2230 with 60 MMM is cutting very nicely
The grass is very heavy because it has been raining everyother day, but it still cuts very smooth,in some places I am going back over it twice just to mulch up the clippings.

My bx2200 w/54" deck cuts the same from high to low settings ,odd problem! have you tried removing and reinstalling the deck? could the self leveling be hanging up? ive had small sticks get wedged in there ,but im sure you have checked that already.

Let's think about this. If you raise the deck 1/2" what happens? Does the vaccum effect that is intended to raise the grass blades get reduced? If so, would a higher blade speed compensate for that? Have you tried increasing engine RPM? If so, did it help any?

What about ground speed? Maybe with the deck higher the ground speed should be reduced a little to allow the blades a bit more time to spring all the way back. Maybe longer grass blades take longer to return upright after you roll over them.

I may be just blowing smoke here but thought I'd take a more analytical approach to the problem. Keep in mind that I don't know diddly about mowing with a CUT.

Just a random thought here, with mowing at 3.5 could one of the deck upper stops still being in contact causing the unlevel mowing? The decks are the same, the linkage is the only difference as to how they handle the ground contours, one works off the ground contact and one works off the tractor contact.

Art ,you might be on to some thing here, the bx does have an adjustment ,when adjusted up all the way in which i think your suposed to have an 1/8" clearance from the stop, could this affect the cut?
