I am looking seriously at the 5030 cab/fel for my small cow/calf operation. I find little discussion on this machine. What are the reviews?

You can search the posts. The model is quite new and a little large for most. Murf may have some. He has a smaller one with the cab. I don't see much difference between the larger L5030 and the smaller L4330 and L4630.

Not knowing how small of an operation you have many times I might suggest a M-series. A little more weight for a baler and a little more capacity of most everything.

I have 120 acres north of Oklahoma City, bermuda hay pasture from which I bale 200-400 round bales each year. My neighbore trades his custom hay work for a portion of my hay, so I will not depend on the 5030 to do that job . I do need a stout FEL for levy work in my bottom land. I.m told the 5030 should handle this. I would like to find a log splitter for use off the PTO.

I have a 5030 on order, dealer says I should see it by the end of April. I chose the 5030 because we are swinging a large and heavy mower and need a loader that can deal with the concrete clay soil we have on the Central Coast of Calif. I would also like to hear from anyone who may already own this unit.

OKC dealer delivered my L5030 + cab with HST and LA853 loader. I had specifically asked to verify that this unit could handle my 1500 bales. Using the specs on the loader, I was told no problem. However I soon found that tractor weight of 4090 plus loader weight are insuffient to move my bales. I attached a rear bale spike and it worked well when loaded first. Let the buyer beware.

Mule,

Are you saying that using the 3 points in the rear work but the loader won't? Is this an issue of the weight closer to the tractor on the 3's instead of the loader?

Would also like to know how much your rig cost as loaded.

Thanks

I need more weight to counter balance the 1500 pounds 500cm in front on the (light) tractor. Carrying the 1500# bale on the rear will then allow me to move bales with the loader spike with improved stability.

5030 with cab, Hydrostatic, loader, off brand auger ( a late surprise) and hay spike was 31,000. They discounted 400 for the quick snap loader and allowed me to buy a Woods B72 brush hog for 1000 (not in the above 31K).
