I assume that nothing is happening when you turn the key? Just dead silence?

Dispaly light turn on. all blinkers and headlights work. sounds like the solinoid is engaging under the hood. It worked earlier when I drove it over here. Went to open the gate and it shut off due to me getting off the seat. The one thing that wasnt' shown to me is how to start it was already running when I got there.

I didn't think Kubota had "operator presence", AKA seat pressure switches. My BX didn't.

The PTO lever will have a cartoon gear surrounded by a box and an arrow to indicate that it turns at a given lever position.

The only thing I can suggest is that you check the PTO.... then sit in the seat and move the transmission lever all the way back and forward, then back to neutral and turn the key.

Could be that the lever is just 1/4 inch out of position.

For my Kubota(not a 7800), Starting procedure is:
Sit down in the seat.
Transmission in neutral.
Cruise control lever in OFF position.
PTO disengaged.
Clutch FULLY depressed.
Turn key to first detent, wait for glo-plug light to go off.
Turn key to engage starter, release when started.

If it died when you left the seat, it sounds like the PTO is engaged or the cruise lever(if available) might be just a little on. There is a few second delay deadman switch that kills the engine when PTO is engaged and there is no weight in the seat(or CC is on). Put the transmission in neutral and fold the seat foreward to use PTO driven chippers, generators, etc that do not require the operator to be on the tractor.
On mine the PTO is activated by a small lever towards the right rear of the seat, behind the 3PH lever. Has some gear icons next to it as DRankin noted.
The cruise lever is on the left of the seat, if you have it.
One other little trick some mfgs. are pulling is a brake sensor that will prevent starting unless the brake is on, but I don't think this applies.
Hopes this helps,
bliz

I am at a loss, I never let my glow plug light go out on my 2710, I just always counted so many seconds and started it. Never knew the light would go out.

Not to get off the man's subject, but I have a 7800 and the glow plug light does not go off. Just count based on temperature.

Sounds like an interlock switch problem. Flipping the seat and all in nuetral should do it. Make sure you turn the key all the way off before re-trying the start procedure.

My b7500 light doesn't go out. I tried it one day when it was cold. It didn't go out after 20 seconds which was when i stop so i wouldn't damage the glow plugs. What Blizzard said is exactly what to do.
