 comparing kubota vs new holland

I noticed when looking at the two message boards the New Holland owners seem to have quite a few posts regarding squeals, noises, problems and general questions whether something is not right with the tractor. When I compare that to the Kubota board I don't see as many posts about those issues. Is this because of the Kubota quality vs New Holland, or Kubota posters maybe don't post the problem? I am trying to decide between a TC30 and B7800, and by looking at that comparison it leads me to believe that Kubota might have a quality advantage over NH... I am not trying to put down NH because I like both products, I just do not want to be posting questions about possible issues with a tractor I just spent a gazzillion dollars on.

I can't comment on other brands but when I bought my Kubota, I expected quality. You can bet that if something goes wrong that is not my fault, I will be complaining on these pages. I would assume that most everyone else would also.

Shorty's got it right, it doesn't matter what colour you buy, if something's not right you WILL say so, to us, to your dealer, or to anyone else who will listen likely.

For my two cents worth (1.3 cents Canadian) decide as much based on how good the DEALER is as how good you percieve the machine to be, the best machine in world isn't worth a pinch of 'you know what' parked in an uncooperative dealers shop while he and the manufacturer and yourself have a 3-way arguement of warranty coverage.

Best of luck.

The way they pump tractors out these days, it's highly unlikely you won't have some kind of problem.

Billy we find more problems with our set-up guys that are trying to get the stuff out under stress because to many machines are sold at once. The quality of the Bota's is recognized by everyone in our stores and especially in the service departments, even though some of the sales boys like to sell the Cadets, and Some like the Farmalls.

I guess what I meant to say is that I don't want to have the same problems some of the NH guys are talking about. If that means buying the Kubota over the NH ... I was just trying to figure out if NH is more prone to issues than Kubota. I really think this site is helpfull, and I would definitely post problems if I had them, I am just hoping to avoid having them in the first place...

Dutch, Take a look at the belly mower of a Kubota, look at the belts and pulleys that run it. Look at the tractor as a whole, they both have there good points, some fit people better. The NH does have some issues with hydraulic noise as well as the battery area. They still are a good tractor and there are a lot of satified owners out there. I feel the NH is built as good as the rest of the compacts.

I just recently purchased a NH TC33 and did the same as you. I basically ghosted this board for a while reading what people were saying and complaining about. As I got closer to what I wanted I made some post about the NH and Kubota's. I then took the advise I had found here and looked at not only the tractor, but the dealership. I had narrowed my decision down to either a NH or Kubota. For me the decision got harder as the local dealers here all carry both, so the dealership helping make the decision was out, it was down to the two tractors. I test drove both, asked some questions and made my decision. I was somewhat concerned with some of the postings I had read regarding issues w/ NH tractors, but in the end most seemed to be dealing with the noise at cold weather start and HST's. I discussed this with the dealer's and was satisfied with the answers I had received. Ultimatly it came down to the little things for me on deciding on the NH TC33D HST. Seat Adjustment, Location of FEL Controls, Adj 3pt arms, etc. So generally I think like others have stated, both are good tractors and you should look at tractor features / dealers / support . Just my 2 cents. Good luck
