 hydraulic hook-up for L2350 DT

need advice- I've installed an aftermarket loader (DuAL)on my tractor. I've purchased a hydraulic outlet assembly ( # 32400-9981)from the dealer, and installed it according to the directions. The hydraulic block has two outlets- one on the face of the block and one on the side. The loader has three lines- inlet, outlet, and power beyond. I've hooked-up the lines as follows: the port on the face of the block leads to the inlet line;the port on the side of the block leads to the power beyond line;the outlet line feeds to the fill plug behind the tractor seat. The loader works great, but here's my questions: I lose power steering when I operate the joystick, so I have to be careful when working in tight areas; If I remove the loader, I have to connect the inlet line to the power beyond line in order to have power steering. Do I have these hook-ups correct?

I believe you might have the wrong valve for the type of hydraulics on your tractor or you need to close off the power beyond port to put feed back to your power steering or to say your hydraulic system.

I think the L2350 was somewhat similar to the L245. I had an L1200 FEL on it. If I recall correctley (big if here with my CRS) the 3rd line routed hyd. oil back to the trans case/reservoir. I think I still have pictures of this I can email you. I took pictures of this set up so I could buy a hyd. power beyond cover reroute plate in order to remove the loader. I still have this plate kit. If you think the pictures will be of help; let me know and I will email them to you.

The hookup sounds basically right but I don't understand how the block is setup. I would listen for an open pressure relief valve when the loader isn't operated in case the PD line has no return to the reservoir.

I don't know how an L2350 is set up (I'm assuming an open centered system) and I'm trying to picture the block. The manifold block on my Ford probably does more since it also has diverter valve relief valves. The block is installed in the high-pressure line. The inlet comes from the pump, or more specifically from a priority valve for the PS that is part of the pump. The outlet continues on to the 3ph. There are ports on the face of the block of pressure and return ports for auxiliary devices such as loaders and a line to the reservoir for the relief valve. I'm guessing that your block is installed on the pump and diverts oil to the loader valve inlet, and the return goes back into the high-pressure line to the 3ph.

The way open centered systems work is that when a control valve is operated the PB flow is blocked and nothing connected to the PB line downstream from the valve assembly works. In my hookup that also uses a valve with PB and return (TANK) lines, the 3ph won't work when the loader is operated and that's normal. In that condition, the pump is filling the loader cylinders and the return (TANK) line carries exhaust oil that is on the passive side of the loader cylinders. That oil goes directly to the reservoir and won't operate anything.

In my case, the PS priority valve is ahead of the block and the PS continues to operate. My system would operate exactly s you describe if the block was ahead of the priority valve, and that may be what's going on here. You might have gotten a unit and instructions for a model w/o PS. If so there's a chance the block could connect to a priority valve outlet. I'm guessing that there has to be a priority valve somewhere for a PS system and hydraulics to share a pump. Combining the PB and return lines into a Y-fitting likely would work but also might ruin the valve if both the loader and 3ph were operated at the same time.

Chief,
Thanks for the offer! I'll take you up on that, my email address is in my profile. I JUST WANT TO BE SURE I HAVE THE LINES RIGHT. The Woods dealers were of no help ( Woods bought out DuAL; found that out right here on this site)I also thought,I read somewhere that Woods/DuAL made the loaders for orange, prior to them manufacturing their own line???

RR
