Just finished the 50 hr service. Oil was very clean. Very few metal chips and they were quite small. Does Kubota have a customer survey for new owners to provide feedback?

They do and you have several coming from them out to 24 months. It is important to be honest and not to exaggerate on them unless you really dislike your dealer. They do rate us from your responses and they are on a curve.

The dealer has been great so far. I was more interested in providing some feedback on the tractor itself. It has exceeded my expectations, but there are a few things they could improve.

If you saved the oil in a clean container, it is not a total loss. I save my 9 gallons of Hyguard for use in my log splitter. It is definitely cleaner than the oil that is in it now.

Chief,
I did the same thing.I did my first transmission oil change at 100 hours.
Ran the oil through a screen with a magnet in it.
Then reuse the oil in my Cad digger backhoe.(call me cheap)!

You will get a chance to give them some points of interest. I have yet to find the perfect piece of equipment but there are some that might be just a little closer to it.

I'm about to change hydraulic oil. The garage I deal with takes back used oil but doesn't really like it when I change hydraulic oil., The volume throws off his collection schedule.

It turns out that my brother-in-law wants it. He says he's used hydraulic or auto transmission oil in his chainsaws for years and also uses it to undercoat his trucks. Used engine oil is a no no for undercoating since it is acidic and also contains detergents that hold moisture in the oil.

Hyd. oil is a bit thin to use for chain bar oil in a chain saw. I would not use it in my Stihl.
