 BX 1500/ BX 2200

I have about 1 acre to mow. I have lots of Oak trees and really need a vacuum system on the mower. The ROPS bar is to high for my garage on the BX 2200/BX 1800. I would not buy a new tractor unless I can get a front end loader.

Any thoughts? Is there enough power in a BX 1500 for the mower and vacuum system? The BX 1500 fits in the garage.

What is the noise like with the vacuum option?

Thanks,

Greg

Greg, Bota's own vacuum system is a good system but my preference is the Trac-Vac.

Art, Is the 1500 a limited category 1 3pth ? Can you tell us what the lift capacity is ? Gregg seems a bit stuck in a niche right between models. An acre is not a lot to mow and he wants a FEL and the ability to use a 48" box grader and possibly a small chipper. I can only think of the Bx1500 and the JDX series. A JD 2210 or a BX2200 seem like overkill. A small boomer with SS would seem perfect. Dave

The BX 2200 is actually the smallest of all the sub-compacts to the best of my knowledge. It may lift the loader higher than the deere but I'm unsure of the Massy. It definitely moves the loader faster and carries a good load doing it. The three point on the BX1500 I believe is the same as the BX2200 and the equipment for both are compatable.

If I remember right the Bx2200 is a limited 3pth hitch as well but it seems like the specs were better than the JD for lift capacity. So the bx2200 is actually smaller than the bx1500 ? whoda thunk. I'm not sure I've ever seen a 1500. I do like that spify rideng mower that kubota builds but its about 6k. Every year about this time I get real tired of pushing a mower for an hour and a half. Dave

To me it just seems like the 1500 is under powered. Maybe this a just a gas guy speaking and not a diesel guy.

My brochure says the ROPS on a BX is about 71 inches. You must have a very short garage door.
