 Kubota Grand L3710 tire pressure

Just bought a used Kubota L3710 with La 682 Loader I love the tractor so far but how do you check the rear tire pressure (tires filled with calcium solution).

Buy a tire pressure gauge that is approved for fluid filled tires. I bought mine from a very small auto parts store in a rural area. Then just measure it.

If you have to relieve or add pressure it may be better to put the trans in neutral, jack up the rear of the tractor, and rotate the tire until the valve is at the 12:00 position. If relieving pressure just let the fluid out until air comes out or the pressure measures what you want. When you're done make sure to thoroughly rinse the fluid off the rims or any metal areas. If they are filled with Calcium it is corrosive and can cause rust.

When I had fluid filled tires, I would mark the 12 o'clock position for the valve stem on the tire with some masking tape so I could see it from the seat. Then it was a simple matter to drive the tractor to position the valve stem.

I am guessing that the difference between a regular air gauge and one designated for fluid filled tires would be that the latter might be made from corrosion resistant materials. I don't think there is a difference in the actual calibration.

Ken, maybe if you get a moment you can check the pressure on your truck or car with both types of gauges to see if the actual readings differ.

I think you're right, Mark. When I bought the fluid-approved pressure gauge I tested it against a dial gauge I have and the pressure readings were the same. Pressure is pressure. The dial gauge would work on the fluid filled tires just fine but I don't want to ruin it. The new gauge has a little procedure you use on it after testing to rinse away any tire fluid that might be in it.

By the way, the reason for jacking up the rear of the tractor is to retain as much fluid as possible. When the tractors weight is on the tires they flatten out which raises the fluid level, so if you're letting pressure out of the tires you will lose more fluid when the tires are on the ground.

How many pounds were in them? You can use a non-cloride gauge but not for long as it will rust it up.
