Kubota B2100 vs Cub 7200 vs JD 4100

I am in the market for my first tractor. I am inbetween the tractors that are listed in my subject field and I am unsure as to which one is right for me. I am somewhat unimformed and looking for some guidence. Why should I buy a Kubota? Are they really the best brand on the market? Does anyone own a B2100 if so would you be willing to email me directly to talk about it? Thanks, Nick

i am in the same boat. i have operated some large equip., but not a compact tractor. and ooh wee, they are proud of them tractors. i'm somewhat partial to the deere 4100, but with that kind of money i don't want to make a mistake. i am willing to go the distance if this is the last tractor i buy. i'm 28 with 4.5 acres. may be asking to much to add the new holland 20 horse? been lookin 8 mo. have not tested machines.

I did lots of research on this awhile back. I ended up with a JD4100 and am very happy, but my decision was helped along by a factory sale that JD had going. I also looked at the New Holland TC-18 and the B-7300 and B-7500 Kubotas. Any of these I think I would be just as happy with. They're all well made and offer similar features and HP for about the same money. I also looked at a compact Massey-Ferguson awhile back. Seemed very smooth and well-made and cheaper than any of the rest, I don't know why these are not more popular. Just go with one of these brands and you can't go wrong. I would made your buy based on price and availability of parts/service in your area.

Kubota B2100 vs Cub 7200 vs JD 4100

I was in your position a while back and did lots of research on the subject. i was torn between the JD4100 and the Kubota B2100 (no Cub dealers close although the Kubota dealer could get them). I decided on the Kubota based mainly on the dealer. The JD dealer wasn't too interested in me or my business (he has since sold out and the new guy is pretty good) even though I already have a JD 820 and the delivery times back then were long and getting longer for the 4100. I eventually got the B2400, a few more hp for a relatively few dollars more and have been very happy with it. The ergonomics are slightly different on the two machines, try driving them both, but you can't go wrong with either one. The dealers might even let you use one for the afternoon, just to get the feel of it. The decision usually comes down to price and the dealer and don't underestimate the value of a good dealership. It might be worth paying a little bit more for the machine if he is really good. Make your decision, put down your money and have fun.

Good question and good answers...I too am a JD4100 owner and never regretted it, yet to have any problems and going on 200 hours of very hard use. The Kubota 2710 came out after my purchase; I would have had a much more difficult decision if it was available then and Carver Eqpt has some really good deals...it would have been tougher. But as others said, your local dealer is important in the long run. Its good to know that parts and service is close by when any problem comes up and your half way through your work. And problems will eventually be there, any mechanical device will need servicing in some way eventually.
