Looking over the specs on a b21 I noticed something odd concerning pto horsepower. Isnt the b21 a beefier version of the b7500. The engines are both listed at 21 overall horse. Total displacement 61.1 cu. in. 3cyl and 2600rpm.
Identical so far yet the pto horse on the 7500 is 16 and the b21 is 13pto horse. Both tractors are hydros so why the difference? I'm intreseted in the more rugged b21 with a loader but 13pto is very weak if looking at snowblowing or mowing. Any ideas as to why or is this just a misprint in the brochure?

Deere has a TLB that is basically a 4700 with yellow paint. It is listed at 43 HP gross and 33 PTO. Same as Kubota, big HP losses..... Maybe they have real big hydraulic pumps??

You are right on part of it. The B-21 and the tractors in that series use the B-27,2910 and the 7800 three range transmission for that application as the middle range gives more flexibility in digging power and speed when using the loader.

The hydraulic pump on the 7500 is is 7.0gpm. The b21 is
8.5gpm. I take it this is the reason for the pto hp difference/between the b21 and the 7500. I'm not sure if I understand what you are getting at Art with your previously posted response. Could please restate your explanation.
Thanx

Don't worry about 1 horsepower. You also have a heavier transmission and rear end in the B-21 than the B-7500 or 2410 offers. Unless your main use is to do PTO work you will never know the difference.
