 B7100 question

I have noticed that the front end loader and my mower on the 3 point hitch both seem to "sink" over a period of time while mowing.

Does this indicate a hydraulic leak of some sort or is this normal?

I find that I have to keep raising the mower as I am mowing to keep it at a given height.

Thanks for any info!

I believe that tractor was designed with a ground engaging deck, it is supposed to ride on the wheels. How much a hitch system will drop and over what period of time is different for every tractor. I don't believe you should have it that noticeable while mowing. The loader will drop but normally while not running. It does sound like you might have some problems there and not just one.

 B7100 question

I'm assuming the tractor has a position control lift, but some the description below is relevant to other types of 3ph's. Most quadrant levers have a tension adjustment. If it's loose, the lever can vibrate down, which lowers the 3ph.

Most 3ph's have several adjustments such as the lift spool and poppet valve clearances but a manual is needed to check these adjustments. If the lift is normal, the lever has a range of motion around the neutral position and the 3ph goes out of lift mode at the top of its range, then these adjustments are likely OK. A worn cam follower pin on some tractors can cause similar problems.

As long as it lifts, most 3ph hydraulic leaks will cause the hitch to cycle up and down when the tractor is running. When the 3ph gets low enough, the lift spool is triggered and the lift raises back to its position.

 B7100 question

My FEL will drop a little over time if the engine is operating at lower RPM. The low RPM means lower hydraulic pressure. I have a 6200 which is a single hydraulic pump like yours (7500 has a double pump)

If I am going from place to place in travelling (high) gear, I have the RPM's lower of course, and the FEL drops, but if I am travelling in lower gear with the engine RPM higher, it never drops. Is this what's hapenning to you?
