post hole digger for b7300 kubota

I want to purchase a post hole digger for the threepoint of my Kubota B7300.1. will it handle a 10-12" auger 2. I need at least 36" hole depth Im a little conserned that the a 3 point wont allow it to go the full 36" with a full 42" auger and still be able to get the auger out of the hole. Kubota only offers a 32" for may tractor is this why?Any one have any experience with post hole diggers on a 16hp Kubota B7300

Tom,I'm using a post hole digger on my JD 650 with 14.5 pto hp, and a 10" auger. Ithink this set-up is similar to your b7300. It's worked great for me. I'm diggingin a clay soil without a lot of rocks, but pretty gummy when wet. I've found that if I dig to the limit of my 3-pt (36"+) and shut off the pto, sometimes the hitch has trouble pulling the auger out of the ground. Two things help- first, pull the auger out several times on the way down and let the dirt fly off. Second, keep the pto turning while lifting the auger back up- that way the dirt column in the auger doesn't re-attach itself to the edge of the hole. On the final clean-out, however, it seems more efficient to shut off the pto, lift theauger out of the hole, then give it a quick spin to clean off the dirt- it'llfly out a foot or so and not back in the hole. The digger I have is from Northern Tool Supply (www.northern-online.com)

I bought a no-name (actually "Lienbach") auger with a 12" bit at a local auction yard that specializes in farm equipmentauctions. They sell a number of different implements at farlower prices than most dealer prices. If you have an auctionyard in the area and are more interested in a low price thana known brand, you might give them a call and see if they dosimilar sales. I have no idea what is inside the gear box, butthe castings look identical to what is used on the lower end ofsome name brand post hole diggers. I was told that they leak alittle grease and I assume that they won't last as long as someothers, but for my needs, that's fine, particularly at $425 forthe package.

I put a Landspride post hole digger with a 12" auger on my tc18. I had the dealermount it on another tc18 to prove to the both of us that everything would clearnot only the ground, but the tractor. All has worked well. The tc18 is verysimilar to the b7300 in the dimensions from ground to link points.Jerry
