Hood/sheetmetal still available for Kubota L245DT?

Looking at a very low hour Kubota L245DT (under 500 hours) which has had a tree branch fall on the hood/nose. Needs replacment (mechanicals are fine on tractor). Is replacement sheet metal (hood, nose, etc.) still available from Kubota, or will I have to hunt salvage yards? Thanks!

Hood/sheetmetal still available for Kubota L245DT?

I'm not sure I've got anything very useful to say but I'd be surprised if a new hood would be in the Kubota parts system. I believe that dealers have their own parts locator service and can check if a part is on-hand at any other dealer, so that's a possibility. But, if a new one is available, the price is likely to be astonishing--judging from the story of some replacement fenders some time back. There are plenty of salvage yards around, but most deal primarily in farm tractors. Maybe somebody here knows of a good yard for compacts. Salvage yards also have their own locator services, although I don't know how well they cover compacts. I guess the availability and cost of a replacement determines how much you’re willing to pay for the tractor. Must have been some tree limb to have bent-up the hood enough that an autobody shop couldn't salvage it. I once built an 30+ gallon auxiliary fuel tank for my old van from sheet metal. Yards and yards of gas weld in the thing. I also put new metal on the bottoms of most panels and fenders, but that was before the welder and with accursed pop-rivets and bondo. Anyway, all sorts of things can be done if time is available and there isn't particular concern about the exact original contours. However, time isn't as free as it once was. I'd find a ready to go replacement and use the price to discount an offer for the tractor. 'Do it yourself' repairs are fine for persons fixing their own tractors, but for a purchase, I think 'do it yourself' hours usually end up being a subsidy for the seller.

I would recommend looking for used. New sheet metal for any tractor is expensive. There should be plenty of used hoods out there for that vintage tractor.
