 Rear Blade for BX

I recently purchased a Land Pride RB0560 rear blade for my BX.
I could not get fit right, the blade would not go to the vertical position because the top link is too long. My dealer tells me the next bigger Land Pride RB will not fit. Does anybody know where I can get a shorter top link? Does anybody know where I can get an RB for my BX? Thanks

Sounds like you have wrong top link for tractor. Do other 3pt implements fit well?

top links for the most part are universal (except for category and length) and can be found at any farm supply store (TSC, Quality stores) and other multibrand new and used tractor dealers will have them.

I saw one fella buy alot of them and keep them on implements. that way its always adjusted to that implement. And before somebody got the idea to put a hook on the tractor they got bang around when not in use.

I also haven't heard of anything but standard top-links. Maybe the dealer would recommend a welding shop that could shorten one. At least I think that's feasible but the welders should really know what they are doing. Going to a shorter hydraulic top-link also is a possibility.

I accidentally damaged the stock top link on my New Holland TC29 while designing and testing an implement. I bought a 16" body top link from Quality Farm and Fleet, thinking that they were all the same. But the stock one had about a 12" body. I ended up cutting the new one in two, shortening the pieces, and welding it back together. I now have a top link with courser threads (adjusts faster) and will both extend longer and retract shorter than the factory top link.

The top link works fine for the Land Pride 1042 tiller I have. I was wondering if there are Cat 0 top links that are shorter but I would need bushings for the tractor top link pin and the blade top link pin. You mentioned some places that might sell top links, do you have web page links to them? Thanks

I really dont want to modify any thing. I'd like to find an off the shelf solution. I like the idea of a hydraulic top link. Where can I find one? That way I could change the cutting angle of blade from the seat.

Link to Tractor Supply Company (TSC) catalog with top links and spec chart for cat 0, cat 1, etc. pin sizes.

There was a discussion not long ago about finding an off-the-shelf hydraulic top link; I believe everybody that had one had to do some fabricating of ball ends or hoses.

Hope it helps,

Bill

Hydraulic top-links are very handy for blades. I wouldn't be without one for my box scraper. I got my top-link as part of a 3ph fork lift--it operates the carriage tilt. It came with CAT II loops and sleeves for my CAT I pins. I've heard of some off the shelf suppliers but maybe not specifically for BX's. Another site had a discussion about a year ago. A whole bunch of dimensions were calculated for do-it-yourselfers. It might be easier to let a dealer come up with something.
