 Kubota B7800 quarter-inching lift

The hydraulic lift on my B7800 has “quarter-inching” control. Supposedly, the lift arms raise or lower in one quarter inch increments, but it doesn’t seem to actually work that way. I’m not sure how to control it or even if mine is working as it is supposed to. Moving the control lever causes the arms to raise and lower, but not in increments, as far as I can tell. It seems a little hard to control the height precisely. (The operator’s manual is of no help at all.)

I think other models have this “feature”, too. Can someone who has one of these describe how it works and how to operate it?

Thanks…

Please take a look at my video on this site that explains the quarter inching control.
