With the changing of filters assume it is a hst transmission. So you were bush hogging when it stopped? I had a small branch jammed my foot pedal once preventing it's movement. It is also possible the linkage was damaged or came loose.

Check your gear linkage also. Does it feel like it is shifting or loose when you move the foot pedal or gear shift lever? ....
