 Low Oil Pressure

Oil pressure light stays on. Oil and filter changed, pressure switch checked (OK), and oil pressure measured at about 10 psi at all rpm levels. Suggestions on next step prior to checking oil pump, which is quite a job on this model?

 Low Oil Pressure

The problem that you are describing is common in the older kubota engines. Kubota installed aluminum plugs in their camshafts on each end to plug the oil transfer tube in the cam. upon removale of the front gear case cover you will find the plug has dropped out of the end of the cam and into the oil pan, do not worry it will not go any where else. You may have already removed it when you drained the oil, there is another plug in the back of the cam that should not affect the oil pressure if it comes loose the end of the cam has a dealed space that is so tight it will hold oil pressure up to factory specs. Please do not use the aluminum plugs, use a threaded hex driven plug instead.
