Kubota L3130 Remote Hydraulic leak down

I just traded my L3130 for a L4240, had remote hydraulic put on. The remote leaks down at about 1" in 10 min. I called my dealer and they came and got the tractor. A week went by and they called and said they put the new valve on, but that one would not hold. Now get this, I ask if he ordered another and he said no because it would also leak down. Those little valves were not designed for a hydraulic top link and had no load check. I ask what the load check had to do with it leaking down? He said it did and I said it didn't. Who is right? I said maybe Kubota got a bad patch of valves, and it would do no good to order for awhile because if that is what happened we would just get a bad one. He did say he would talk to the kubota service Rep. I said we would wait for awhile give him time to talk to rep. and we would try again before it gets out of warranty ( 2 years but i'm not waiting that long.) At first I think he was getting ready to say that it was something I would have to live with, BUT HE DID NOT SAY THAT. I was talking to a service Mang. not the owner.
Just want to know what you guys think. Lee

Kubota L3130 Remote Hydraulic leak down

First of all Lee, are you sure it's the remote valve itself and not the cylinder attached to it that is leaking?

Secondly, even if the valve is not equipped with a locking system, a pilot operated locking valve is not expensive, and easily installed either inline or permanently on the device you wish to use it on.

Best of luck.

It's not the cyl. I loaded it with a woods rm990 mower and it stayed up until i took the load off, (over 2 hrs.) I fell the valve shouldn't leak down that fast, maybe over night. Lee

Kubota L3130 Remote Hydraulic leak down

I have a NH with a hydraulic toplink connected to a rear remote. I installed the remote kit myself and noticed that the check ball system is not that robust in that the machined surfaces aren't that well machined.

Thinking about your situation, I rethought my similar issue of leak down on my toplink. And this is what I came up with: Simply, the remotes are really intended to control a hydraulic cylinder that doesn't necessarily have weight or force on it, like a rake, blade, snow blower chute, etc. The only option I see for you is to lower the implement to the ground when not in use---thus eliminating any leakdown issue.
