 Kubota B7510 Box Blade Advice

Looking to buy a box blade for my 7510, and wanted to know if the 60" was too big, or if I should go with the 48" that the user manual recommends.

Thanks

What are you planning on moving? Dirt is heavier than you may think. I find using a blade that over loads the tractor not to be fun. I really would go with Kubota's suggestion on blade. kt

I was going to use it to grade my drive (~1/2 mile), and I thought the extra width might allow me to get by with fewer passess. Generally will just be smoothing and filling pot holes.

If you will seriously only be pulling a couple of inches of material you may be fine with the extra width. I have used a 5 foot on a 43 hp farm tractor and at times could fail to pull it loaded with dirt. Seven foot blade on 68 hp is a full load also. kt

Rupert; It's real easy to get a box blade that's too big. It seems to work out best to have the width of the box blade exceeed the over all width of your tractor by 2-3 inches on each side, that's big enough power and traction wise. I'll kind of toot the horn for a landscape rake when it comes to moving and leveling gravel or soil that has been loosed up buy the scarifers in a box blade. In a landscape rake you could handle a 5-6 foot model to trim up your lane. The box blade gets the rough stuff done and the landscape rake will level things up for you, one machine compliments the other real well. Frank.

Ended up with the 60 in box blade and it works like a charm.
