 Safety Switches Kubota b7800

My Kubota B7800 2005 model is giving me a headache.

It has a bad switch somewhere that decides to sometimes annoy me. When it does, it disables the tractor from starting. It goes through the "clicks" but the starter will not engage. The crazy thing is sometimes I just go bonkers with the levers and clutch etc and it fixes it. Sometimes if it sits overnight it starts next day. Its almost like it has a variable dtime delay!!

Anyways, I need to disable this temporarily, and fix it later, unless the fix is quick, as I need the tractor to be on its game.

Any clues, ideas, places to start?

Thanks to all, and good to see the site still running strong!

Let me try this again. Matt if the starter is clicking it is not likely a safety switch as the switch normally locks out the starter. I would suspect that you have a bad (corroded) ground from the battery. I would clean all the ends of the battery cables and see if it helps.

no no, the starter does not click, I can hear the ignition etc. click, as in, a safety switch being operated.

the safety swithces, one of them, is keeping the starter from turning.
Is there a central place where I can disable these switches?

I had the exact same thing happen to my B7800 05 (no sorry 04 square hood) kubota.

It turned out to be a loose connection. There is a connection made to a switch or other part on the same side as the starter. I can not remember the name of the part right now. It did involve loosening the dash, so as my hand could get to the area of the part.

I hope this helps

Tony

Mine is not what you may be looking for but I have model about same as your's. While holding the key in the crank position with all levers where then need to be, gently move each one a little each way and you probably will find the switch that is the problem if it is just slipped or a littel out of postion.

I was abourt to adjust switch so it was clear in neutral when it hit me, good anti theft system so I two years later pulling that lever ever so lightly when cranking.

With tractors as dangerouos as they can be with all that is moving, I sure would hate to by pass any safety switch.

Try checking the neutral switch by the hydro pedal. Worked on one that it whould stick and run but then after you got off or shut the tractor down and try to restart it wouldn't.
