3 point hitch lever moves from where it is set

I have a b2150 4wd and the 3 point does not hold position and I have to either lock it in the up position or set the stop to keep it from drifting down, a real pain. Is this normal or do I have a problem with the valve.

Your description of the problem is slightly vague.

Is the 3pth lift arms, the arms the implement mounts to drifitng down but the actuator lever next to the seat staying where you put it?

If it is just a case of the lever next to the seat moving, as your reply sort of indicates when you say "set the stop" then it is a real easy fix, if not convenient one. Where the lever enters the rear casting under the body work there is a tension adjustment. I can't remember exactly on those smaller machines, but I seem to recall theres a pair of really thin nuts that lock the lever in place, you loosen the outer one (the jamb nut) then tighten the other a little and increase the tension, then re-tighten the jamb nut.

Best of luck.

On my b7200 I notice that happens if the down reliece valve under the sea it set wrong. It is like it has to be open a couple of turns so the blade goes down pretty fast. I think at that point the hydraulic pressurs is more stable to hold it in place

Still the double nut. They are set when new for the restriction of new part which when worn smooth with use will allow it move to easily.

Well finaly got a chance to look at the lever for the hyd. lift. Mine has a single nut on one side of the lever and a rubber grommit on the other side of the lever. Gave the nut about a 1/4 turn and now it stays put. Thanks for the help everyone, this is by far the beast site for help and advice, bar none.
