 Loader Problem (LA211)

Sounds like either the detent spring broke, or lost it's tension.

The float position is usually created by means of a spring-loaded ball bearing dropping into a shallow depression, this causes just enough tension to hold the valve open. If the spring loses tension, it will not hold.

Talk to your dealer's service department, it is usually a simple matter to replace the spring yourself.

Best of luck.

Thanks Murf!!!! You have a spring which holds a small ball into a recess in the housing. What's happening is the spring isn't strong enough to hold it in and it's releasing it. Murf is right and it is in the control valve no place else. The dealer would be good for this.

Do you know how to access those ball bearings and spring??
My dealer is no help at all! He thought it was a loose quick
disconnect hose..

Murf, You have a GREAT spread up there!! I would love to go north, getting much to crowded here in Connecticut!

 Loader Problem (LA211)

On my B1550 the little springs and balls are behind the hex head bolts on each side of the alloy end caps at the bottom of the main valve body. But its best to remove the end cap completely and have a good look and give it a clean. Its an easy job... just remove the 2 allen head screws. In my case the detent groove was worn beyond repair so replacing the springs and balls would have been pointless. So I just live with having no detent for the float. One more thing .. Over time the alloy end caps can become distorted and throw the valve centering out of whack resulting in a droopy bucket. It can be an easy fix by a dropping a suitable washer (shim) into the bottom of the end cap.

Took those plugs off and found all bearing rusted or Dust! Also found a little water!! Its a BAD Design, water can seep right down the shaft from the top of the valve to those plugs at the Bottom where its trapped! And I keep my tractor inside and this happened in only 2 1/2 years!!

They must be selling a lot of these parts!!! Now to find out how much $$ I have to give those little guys

I've read on another group that the detent rebuilt kit is $25. I don't know exactly what you get for the money. And yes, water in the caps seems to be a common problem
