 Kubota Cold Starting

I am going to purchase a BX-24 with FOL/BH & Snowblower. My question is, has anybody had problems starting there Kubotas in cold weather. I live in upstate New York and it gets well below freezing in the winter. Thanks in advance for your thought`s!

Never had a problem with my BX2230, living in northern Wisconsin. Gets pretty cold here. Usually at least a couple weeks of constant below zero every winter and lots of snow.

AV8R, I saw your pics with the snow blower and box blade. How does the snowblower perform with the turf tires? Can it handle deep snow?

My BX has no problem in the cold, even if left outside for extended periods !

Bx's in our yard have been started below zero here but I do recommend a block heater if temps are below zero. Normally there isn't to much snow that falls below 10 so most tractors aren't required to start then other then for clean-up. A warm well charged battery will help an engine start better.

All of this assumes you don't have a tank full of summer fuel on that cold morning.

You do need to keep up with seasonal fuel changes or treat the fuel you have to prevent gelling.

Thanks for the tips guy`s! I actually bought a new BX-2350 today and they (Emerich`s) are installing a block heater and work light free of charge becuase I bought three implements with the tractor. So I guess between the seasonal fuel and the block heater, I should be good to go!

I had a hard time starting my 7510 last year for a while. I thought all you had to do was turn the key for a few seconds for the glow plugs to work. After a while I noticed the yellow glow plug light has to be on for five to ten seconds. Then it started up in one second.

I have a 1 yr old bx-23 which started right up to -10F (coldest it got last year) without the block heater being used (it is installed) IIRC it was alot like summer other 2-3 sec longer crank but I did let it warm up 10-min or so other than short move to clean off (stored outside) Only use 30-45 hrs yr so only(now) burn winter stuff but have a quart of the treatment

I have a L4310 that gets Powerstart diesel additive year round. Also, I plug the engine block heater in about 4 hours (with timer) prior to when operation is planned below 10 deg.

It'll start below 10, but sure doesn't sound good.
