tractor ran great until filter buldged out and ruptured. Installed another and got about an hr of run time before it ruptured again. I own all the service manuals and none talk about this happening. Where would you start trouble shooting?

The dealer?

Seriously, that sounds like a major problem.

Seems a little odd that it took an hour of use to develop the problem again. Typically hydraulic problems are instantaneous---all things being equal. I'm thinking you must be using a hydraulic circuit which could be the cluprit some time after you are using the machine for awhile. Does it have a loader or aux. ports which have quick disconnects? It still shouldn't affect the system but a quick disconnect that isn't fully seated will prevent a cylinder from working properly causing a relief valve to blow by. Perhaps the relief valve isn't working.

Alright, what adjustments to the hydraulic system have been made? Is it a Kubota filter?

When changing the filter, did you also change oil? If so, do you have the correct oil weight in it? Could it have a slug of contamination in it?

Off the top of my head it sure sounds like you have a 2 hydraulic hoses reversed and are thus pressurizing the return line.

Not a good thing .......

Best of luck.

Art,

The oil was changed along with the OEM filter this past fall, probably have put 10 hrs on the machine before this happened. Whats confusing is the machine ran fine. Tonight I took the low and high pressure plugs out and tomorrow I'm going to buy test plugs for gauging. My thought is possibly the high pressure check is leaking through and sending enough volume of oil that the low pressure relief can't handle it all. If this is the scenario, the tractor would run except for achieving proper speed. I can't confirm this because I was mowing the the lawn at time of incident. You think I'm heading in the right derection?
Regards,
Tool Man

eartwrks,

The machine has a FEL which was off at the time. I checked the quick disconnects and they appear to be ok.
