B7500 wanting to add an aerator, thatcher, landscape rake

Does anyone have an idea what you can purchase that will work with my machine. Is there a unit you can aerate and possibly use for a landscape rack too. I want to first aerate my yard. I also would like to start using my tractor to prep new home lawns to apply seed and straw. Any ideas I would like to do this being the most spend thrifty as possible but get a good unit.

There are all kinds of 3PH aerators out there. My preference is the core type. Your machine should be able to handle a 5' unit with no trouble.

For seed bed prep the best tool is a power rake. It's basically a rotating drum with nubs welded to it in a spiral pattern. You may have trouble finding one for your PTO HP though. In the absence of a power rake, I'd use a tiller set to a very shallow depth.

For seeding, the cadillac option is a power overseeder. It uses discs to open a furrow and seeds are dropped in from feeder tubes. The cheap option is to use a broadcast spreader, but then you'll need to topdress and roll in subsequent operations.

Horsepower, tractor weight all hold you back from buying professional quality tools to do the job you are asking about. They don't build them in the size range you need. A York style rake works well for many for lawn installations and light grading for trash removal and a three point hitch roller with knife like tabs welded to it would do well to areate and be portable and I'd recommend tow behind wheel rake type machine for the thatch if you wouldn't want to have one mounted to the front of the tractor and the mower with a vacuum which works well. These tools will get it done about as cheap as it can be.

Your B7500 might be kind of large for lawns. The best of the 'corer' aerators were made years ago and I have no idea who made them. They were good because they were HEAVY. I bought a 5 footer about 4 years ago new. It has a barrel that I fill with water (about 30 gallons or so). I also add additional weight for better penetration of the corers. I do about 30 acres of clover per year (once each way). I do this after application of seed, fertilizer, and any needed lime and have not had to plow up the 'rocky' land for 5 years now. Also, I have just about doubled my baled hay each year and we have had some darn dry years the last couple years. It was a little innovative on my part, but it works and I dont have to pick up stones for days on end.
