Mobil DELVAC 1300 15w40 is easy to get at rural and truck stores.

Mobil DELVAC 1 5w-40 is the same as Mobil 1 Truck and SUV, now discontinued, is formulated to include turbo charger and the higher RPM in cars, but obviously will work fine, though more expensively. The new Mobil 1 5w-40 Turbo Diesel will be available soon.

I've run mobil 1 in my bx2200 for 360 hours now. Best oil known to man in my opinion. I run it in EVERYTHING I have that takes oil. So good of an oil- I have a clunker car, 1994 Geo Prism that I run back and forth to work (truck gets 12MPG, GEO 30).

It uses some oil so instead of putting the Wally World 88 cents a quart junk in there. I put the OLD mobil 1 from My Silverado and my wife's xc70 cross country in this little bomb! I change them a 4K and it comes out clean as a whistle. I love the oil so much it's too good to bring to the recycle place! I strain it and put it in the old Geo. Needless to say, the Geo started using a quart a week at 105,000 miles before using USED mobil 1(I ran what ever was on sale in it). It now has 160,000, runs great and only gets a new filter every 2 months and is run on PURE 4,000 Mile Filtered and strained USED Mobil 1 and it's running stong! Don't tell anyone or I will deny it!

I agree. I'm not partial to any particular brand but I happen to use Mobil-1 in my cars and in my tractor. It has never let me down, however, I think the same would be true of any full synthetic. The differences between brands is negligible compared to the difference between synthetic and any regular oil.

BTW, the fact that oil looks "dirty" does not necessarily mean that it needs to be changed. Just the same, oil that looks clean might be at the end of its life. The condition of the oil boils down to the molecular level. Any good filter should remove the macroscopic contaminates. Color is not a reliable indication of the oil's condition.

Are there limitations to synthetics for introducing them to high mileage vehicles?
Some years ago, I switched everything over to Shell Rotella T15-40. I have not had any difficulties, however just curious.
I am aware that some oil products, strictly package for high mileage vehicles, and that the introduction of synthetics after a certain age/mile marker, is either too late to adequately perform for engine longevity, or too costly to get involved with...or both.

recently a good friend switched to Mobil 1 in his Chevy 1500 plow truck. He says he can hear the difference when it is running. I would like to think that he could not, as this truck is nearly new...I just shrug my shoulders with questions posed
