Can a Kubota L2500 do these chores?

I'm looking for a compact tractor to do following chores: 1) Operate 100 gallon Hardi Rear 3 pt hitch mount sprayer (totals approx 900 lbs when full); 2) operate 5 foot bush hog & 3) operate 12 in post hole digger. I can get a Kubota L2500 compact tractor w/front loader & I've also looked at New Holland 1720. My question is this: can either of these tractors handle the above chores easily or would I be pushing their limits since they both have around 23 PTO hp. Both models are 4 wheel drive, 3 cyc.

The L2500 does not have a live PTO, this might bother you when Bush Hoging as the mower will stop when the tractor is not moving.

I compared these two last year at this time. I bought the L2500. Why? I liked the dealer better (Carver Equip), got a new L2500 for less than local kubota/NH dealer wanted for a lease return NH 1720. The NH1720 is a little heavier or so says the sales literature I dug up (it's a lot more tractor like than the Boomers). It has the option of the SSS transmission and live PTO for a HEAFTY price. I haven't missed the live PTO but was concerned this would be an issue. It turns out it hasn't been one. I am VERY VERY satisfied with the L2500 and think I made the right decision. According to the L2500 owners manual a 100 3pt sprayer is a bit large. It recomends an 80 gal unit, NH lit I have does specify. I think the 5ft rotary cutter would work fine on either unit. I have no experience with post hole diggers nad cant find any specifics in the stuff I still have around. Jeff in NC

Can a Kubota L2500 do these chores?

Bill, I use a Ford 1710 (23.5 pto hp), the predecessor to the 1720, to power a 6' bush hog, and a post hole auger using 8, 12, and 18 inch bits. My 1710 has a two-stage clutch which makes using the bush hog easier. When it bogs down I stop moving until it "catches up". I know the 6' mower is a bit much, but the price was right when I bought it.Depending on the soil the post hole auger can stall out the tractor, but I generally do not have any problems w/ the auger unless I am in wet clay and the bit sinks in quickly.Hope this helps.Carl

I have a L3600 and I also have a loader. I love them both. I move 1200# round bales without a problem. Check your book to see the 3-pt hitch capabilities. I know for mine, it is over 2000#. If you have good weight in the front, you should not have a problem. I pull a 9" post hole digger and a 6ft bush hog with no problem...
