For the last couple of years I've been pushing snow with the fels on my B2910. About this time each year I wonder if anyone has built or knows where to purchase a snow blade that would fit directly on the FEL. From my expierence, if you could displase the snow to the side rather than scope and dump, the time and or amount you could clear would certainly double. Any thoughts before I start the attachment/blade construction.

That looks really interresting but probably more than I need and rather difficult to put on and off. I've been thinking of a very simple maybe four bolt attachment method for the plow blade. I use the fels very frequently for as it seems any heavy moving task. I'd like to be able stick the blade on in a couple of minutes. Obviously I will have to sacrifice blade options such as a swivel for changing angle. Thanks for the site--looks great if you want to mount and leave it on all winter.

Check Murfs posts and pictures. He just uses regular truck blades.

I'm not sure how hard it would be to mount and unmount. Their grapple takes about one minute to swap between bucket and grapple with the JD loader quick attach method. I'm sure it's well built and expensive though.

Peters is right, we use regular snow plows from pickup trucks all the time.

You do not have to sacrifice anything, even the bucket if you don't want to, but the bucket adds axtra weight.

We made up a mount with a deep U-shaped mouth which slips over the cutting edge of the bucket, and puts a regular snow plow on, with the A-frame back inside the bucket. Two holes in the bucket bottom are used to pin the harness there so it doesn't come off when back dragging. There is a stiff-arm brace added to restrain the bucket and a pair of quick-disconnects added to the curl circuit lines. Since the bucket is restrained, operating the curl circuit then angles the plow instead since the fluid takes the path of least resistance.

Putting it on & off takes about 2 minutes.

Best of luck.

Murf,

I like your description because I want to do something similar but without the cylinder. Could you post pic so I can get a better idea of the U shaped mouth?

Thanks
