 B7800- NEW OR USED ?

Trying to decide between a used '04 b7800,HST,4WD with fel,177hrs,R4 tires, some cosmetic scuffs and scratches-$12,000, or a new one at $15,800.. Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions? Anyone gotten a better price on the new one? Only checked 2 dealers so far, but they were within $200 of each other.
Thanks for your help !!!

For the $3800 difference I would go new. Its just a matter of personal preference - the used one is probably fine and you could save some money. There is just something special about a machine that has not been used by anyone but you. Also , though resale is good on all these machines, it will be better if you are the only owner.

 B7800- NEW OR USED ?

I just went through the exact thought process. I ended up buying a 2003 B7800 with 102 hours. It too had a few minor scratches. With just 100 hrs, I figured even in the unlikely event it was not maintained, it couldn't be hurt. I would call the dealer and have them run the maintenace records using the serial number and see if it had any problems. Just think of the attachments you can now afford and that you now don't have to worry about the "first" scratch. I use my tractor for work not show and don't want to always be concerned about getting a scratch. After all it is just a hunk of steel.

The only difference here is how you are willing to pay! If you need financing then the new would be the bargin. I often wonder from time to time why some people swap late model tractors and that would be a concern as often if the tractor was sold and didn't match the application then you could have nearly 200 hours of total abuse!

I went the used route but could trust the dealer it came through. I found a little more discount than you are for about the same hours but mine was 2 years old. Fully agree with finding out on maintance record and why they got ride of it. Kubota does have good financing now I think. As to only $200 difference between the new one, my suggestion buy from the one that you will get it serviced at if you go new. It may be worth much more than the price difference.

I had a chance to go by the Kubota dealer who sold the tractor. The service manager advised me to run away from this one. Said the original owner was always bringing it in with something he'd bent and wanting it replaced under warranty. Was using it as a bulldozer.. Said when they finally refused to kiss his butt anymore, he went to the J/D dealer and traded it in. So, I may bite the bullet and go new, but may consider the L2800. Have read some of the good discussion here about deciding between the 7800 and the 2800.
