 Tooth Bar for BX1800

Need advice. I have a BX1800 that I use to pick up logs in the woods and move dirt around my yard. I have been considering purchasing tooth bars but I am not sure that they would be worth the money. Would having tooth bars on the loader make it easier to scoop dirt from the ground or from a pile of dirt. Also, where would the best place to purchase such an animal.

Though I don't have one (yet), I have heard that a toothbar makes a loader into a digger very quickly. Moving rocks and more compacted soil would be far easier with a toothbar to break the material up, first.

There are several manufacturers around on the 'net, but the first place to start would be your dealer (IMO). I have seen prices for my LA211 (BX2230) ranging from $150 to $500, for a 48" toothbar.

A toothbar will increase the digging ability of your loader by a lot. I do not have a toothbar for my Kubota but plan on getting one. I used to have a bobcat with two buckets, one toothed, one flat. The difference is night and day. I think you will be very happy with a toothbar, just make sure that it is well attached.

If you do a search on ebay, there's someone the mfgr them, they're yellow, looks pretty solid. I believe they can make them to your bucket width.

I have a 46.5" (I think) toothbar for my 48" bucket. I ordered it last year through Carver Equipment, although it's actually manufactured by W.R. Long. I paid $290, including shipping. I've seen 'em for more and for less, so it's worth shopping around. It's been great for digging out honeysuckle, pulling stumps, etc. Good luck.

That's about I paid with the extra tooth. They work great for picking up brush and logs that are larger than my bucket.
